Natalia A. Kosyak, EA

Ms. Kosyak joined Flott & Co. in August 2015. Before joining the firm, she worked for a number of years as a tax advisor for Liberty Tax Service and H&R Block.

Ms. Kosyak leads the individual tax compliance team. She assists US taxpayers in foreign countries and foreign taxpayers in the US with US tax matters. She prepares and reviews individual and business returns and provides tax planning. Ms. Kosyak handles international tax compliance including FBAR, FATCA, and streamlined foreign and domestic offshore procedures (SFOP and SDOP). She has extensive experience with complex international issues related to controlled foreign corporations (CFCs), global intangible low-taxed income (GILTI), subpart F income, section 245A, the foreign-derived intangible income (FDII) deduction and passive foreign investment companies (PIFCs).

She provides simulations to compare the relative advantage to clients of using foreign tax credits or the foreign income exclusion to reduce their tax implications. She helps clients with the expatriation planning to minimize the impact of exit tax.

Ms. Kosyak earned her MS in History from Leningrad State University in the former Soviet Union. Upon graduation, she worked at the Leningrad College of Medical Electronics and Optics as a lecturer in political science. After immigrating to the United States, she obtained accreditation as an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service in 2013.
